Since 2005, Rock Ed Philippines has
been ending its work-year with a mammoth celebration of Human Rights.
We hold eight (8) simultaneous events in eight (8) train stations of
the MRT line along historic EDSA. ROCK THE RILES is held every Sunday
closest to International Human Rights Day. (Intl HR Day is celebrated
every Dec 10)
Despite having no commercial funding this year,
we all decided to push through with it anyway. Everyone involved in
'Rock the Riles 2008' pitched in to make it possible. Shelled out
cash, lent some equipment, lent expertise, talent and time.
So we can squarely say: This one's ours.
This
gathering is our rally of sorts, that one time we decide to physically
come together and say the same thing at the same time. That one time we
decide to pool our voices and say "No more excuses, Philippines."
Next Sunday, take the train. Choose a station. Watch a gig. Take a stand. Rock and roll.
Save the date: 7th of Dec, 2008. 2-7pm at any MRT station nearest you.

One Proud Kuya....

Received an SMS from my Mom last Monday:
"Scheduled for interview si Gem sa Dec 1 kasi TOSFEL Nominee siya sa Youth Category...."
I'm so happy when I read this message when I woke up last Monday. This is an honor for my sister and of course for our family.
TOSFEL means Ten Outstanding San Felipenians. This award is being given to San Felipenians (people of our town - San Felipe) during our Community Affair being held every other year if I am not mistaken.. *sigh, been so long when I attended the last Community Affair. Once you got this award, you will be placed on the list of the Town's Famous people. My sister was chosen to be a nominee because of such reasons:
- she graduated in HS as the class valedictorian - March 2008
- she passed the UPCAT (UP Entrance Exam)
- she passed the DOST Scholarship Exam
She is currently taking up BS Biology and in her 1st year, 2nd sem at the University of the Philippines - Los Baños. And she needs to go home to Zambales this weekends for the interview on Monday.
These are the reasons why she was one of the nominees and of we are excited and hoping that she'll get the award for the category. If she'll get this award, she will be the 3rd on our family to get the award. My Dad and my Kuya got the same TOSFEL award last 1991. My Dad got it because our farm equipments (farm tractor, thresher and trailers) were used to help evacuate people in our town during the Mt. Pinatubo eruption on 1991. On the other hand, my Kuya has given this same award because he was the first in our town to compete on a Regional Quiz Bee in history (Sibika at Kultura that time). He got the 2nd place on this stage and he was Grade 6 then. So lucky 'coz after 17 years, here we go again, a nominee from our family was chosen. I'm just so happy.... (sana ako din.. bwahahahahah)

DA WHO UPDATE

Hi Guys!
Alam ko na maraming nag-aabang sa DA WHO Part 5 entry ko. Pero sad to say wala po munang update ang inyong lingkod. Mahina kasi ngayon ang mga bubwit ko. Napapagod na kasi ako sa kakasagot na walang pa akong update kaya I decided na ipost na UNDER CONSTRUCTION muna ang DA WHO. Pero guys, don't worry. I will see to it na mas kapanapanabik, mas shocking, revealing at makalaglag salawal ang DA WHO Part 5!
Sa mga naging subject ko na sumama ang loob at iniirapan ako tuwing nagkakasalubong tayo mamatay ka sa inggit! Humanda ka sa DA WHO PART 5 at ikaw ulit ang topic! Hahahahahahaha! Nagiipon lang ako ng mas juicing chika. Yngat yngat ka lang girl! hehehehe!

HAIR UPGRADE

recently had my hair upgraded.
ang mahal ah.
in a way nagsisi
ako kasi dami nagsabi
i can do it and have the same result but for minimal price.
oh well too late for that..
yung buhok ko may mahabang bangs dati
at since nagpastraight ako..
kinda natatakpan niya ang mga mata ko
as per guidelines..
(yes may guidelines pong binibigay ang going straight)
bawal i-clip or iheadband ang hair
bawal ilagay sa likod ng ears.
kaya ginupitan ko sarili ko ng bangs.
matagal ko din namn pinangarap magmala-super model look ang hair ko
(for me super models have super straight hair with bangs)
dati lagi akong binabara ng mga parlorista
pag sinabi ko puwede pong may bangs tulad nun
sabay turo kay tyra banks
sasabihin nila
"pang straight hair lang po siya"
puwes ngayon..puwede na!
kaso nung makita ko sarili ko sa salamin.
naalala ko yung buhok ko nung grade 5 pako.
parang ganun. ang weird.
parang bumalik ako sa kabataan.
sabi nga ng kapatid ko parang grade 5 lang.
at least i dont look like im 27 yrs old.
